Savoring Simple Moments

Finding the Happy in Your Day

Life can get hectic and stressful. I know for me, one of my greatest sources of joy (my children) can also be one of my greatest sources of frustration. Don’t get me wrong … I love and adore my kids. They truly are blessings from The Lord. But, when they are still very young and needy, I feel very outnumbered.

LO: Baby Mini BookA friend of mine once told me that when she gets upset at her son, she pulls out all of his baby photo albums. We laughed about it, but I thought, That’s not a bad idea. So, I decided to create a new category of posts in this blog called “Savoring Simple Moments” to record the things about my children that make me smile. And I suppose that if I do get upset at any of my children, these stories will just be a click away.

I realize that not all who read this blog are moms, but you don’t have to be one to find those simple moments in your world that put a smile on your face. And, at the end of the day, when you lie down on your bed and your mind goes on fast rewind to recount the events of the day, perhaps you will be less given to focus on the things that discourage you and more inclined to be thankful for the moments that brightened your day.

  1. You have no idea how much I needed this today! One of girls in particular has been giving me quite a hard time lately and it is wearing me out! Focusing on what I love about her will certainly calm the agitation I feel right now. Thank you 🙂
